Naval Station Rota around Rota, Spain, is the largest military base around Spain & houses U.S. Navy & Marine personnel & their dependant. A base, described per U.S. Navy when a "Gateway to the Mediterranean" is front yard to an landing field & the port. A base has housed U.S. troops since a 1950's & at its peak size, in the late 1970's, was at home to 10,000 U.S. personnel. It used to be that a nautilus facilities were pull down, a base's people dwindled.
NAVSTA Rota has served as a primary holding facility for troops & a diapers in their way to & from either the Middle East during the recent operations within Afghanistan and Iraq.
NAVSTthe Rota is technically a Spanish Navy base. Per se certain U.S. military customs are non found on this base like the display of a U.S.
